கோலிவுட் 'கில்லி'
நீண்ட காலமாய், பல்வேறு விமர்சனதுக்கு உள்ளாகி, அதிலிருந்து மீண்டு, இப்போதும் அஜித்தை பற்றி சொல்லும் போதெல்லாம் குறிப்பிடுவது போல, பினீக்ஸ் பறவையாய் பறக்கிறார், தீபாவளிக்கு வெளியான வரலாறு படம் மூலமாய்.
2003ல் ஆஞ்சநேயா படம் வெளிவருவதற்கு முன்னால், ஏதோ ஒரு பேட்டியில் அஜித், தனக்கு சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் நாற்காலி மீது ஆசை என்று சொன்னதை கேட்டு எல்லோரும் தாம் தூம் என்று குதித்தார்கள்.. ஒவ்வொரு மனிதனுக்கு ஒரு ஆசை, லட்சியம் இருப்பதை போல அவருக்கு இருந்தது தவறா என்ன.. எனக்கு இப்படியாக ஆசை என்று சொன்னால் யாராவது தவறு என்று சொல்வார்களா.. அஜித்துக்கு மட்டும் ஏனிந்த நிலமை.. மீடியாக்களுக்கு சோப்பு போடத் தெரியாததாலா.. இல்லை அடிக்கடி மீடியாக்களில் தோன்றி அவர்களின் வருமானத்தை உயர்த்தாததாலா.. இப்போக் கூட மற்ற முன்ணனி நடிகர்கள் மாதிரி டிவில வரலாறு படத்திற்க்காக அஜித் வந்து விளம்பரம் செய்யவே இல்லை. அஜித் செய்த ஒரே தப்பு சினிமாவில் நாட்டம் செலுத்தாமல் ரேஸ் சவாரியும் ஒரே நேரத்தில் செய்ததும் தான்.
SIFY.com பற்றி ஒரு கருத்து இருக்கிறது. அது எப்போதும் விஜயையும் விஜய் படங்களையும் தான் தூக்கிவைத்து கொண்டாடுகிறது என்று. வரலாறு விமர்சனத்தை பாத்தாலே தெரியும். முதல் நாள் Above Average என்று போட்டவர்கள், பிறகு Average என்றும், அவர்களின் பாக்ஸ் ஆபீஸ் கட்டுரையில் Hit என்றும் சொல்லி இருக்கிறார்கள். ஏனிந்த தடுமாற்றம். இப்போது வரலாறின் வசூலைப் பார்த்து அஜித்தை கோலிவுட் கில்லி என்கிறார்கள். கிரிக்கட்டில் ஓபனிங் இறங்கி குறைந்த பந்துகளில் அதிக ரன்கள் எடுக்கும் ஆஸ்திரேலியாவின் கில்கிரிஸ்ட் போல, கோலிவுட்டுக்கு அஜித் என்கிறார்கள். முதல் பத்து ஐந்து நாட்களிலேயே போட்ட காசை எடுத்துவிட்டனராம் தயாரிப்பாளரும், விநியோக தியேட்டர் உரிமையாளர்களும்.
மறுபடியும் இப்படி அஜித் திரும்ப வருவார்னு எதிர்பார்த்தேன்.. ஆனா இது கொஞ்சம் லேட். இனிமேல் நல்ல கதைகளை கேட்டு, தனக்கு அது ஏற்றது தானா, கமர்ஷியலா ஹிட் ஆகுமான்னு பார்த்து நடிச்ச நல்லா இருக்கும். மேலும் அவர் படங்கள் ஆழ்வார், கிரீடம் வெற்றி பெற வாழ்த்துக்கள்
(ரொம்ப நாளா எழுதணும்னு நினச்சுகிட்டு இருந்தது.. ஒரு படம் நல்ல ஹிட்டான பிறகு எழுதலாம்னு இருந்தேன்.. வரலாறு நல்லாவே ஓடுறதால இப்போ எழுதுறேன்)

Interesting comment / analysis on Ajith. My 2 cents here.
First of all we have to wait for a couple of more movies / hits to say if he is a phoenix or just a flash in the pan. Remember KSR has a bigger knack for success than Ajith.
Reg. his arrogance, while it may be one interview which may have kick-started it, his selection of roles (Red / villain / citizen and so on) and the buildup, punch dialogs as well as more and more thoughtless interviews contributed much to it. It was laughable to see while the movies failed one after other, the dialogs and interviews showed no sign of modesty / humility. I think he jumped the gun in trying to clone / emulate Superstar before he (and the audience) was ready. Meanwhile, Vijay seems to have gradually and casually ascended to that throne and it is upto Ajith to seize it from him. One success does not make a summer.

i saw varalaru this weekend. ajith's acting is very good esp in the dancer role... if he continues to act like this without any build-up/heroism/red style movies, he is bound to be at the helm again..

I saw Varalaaru today. I was very disappointed with the movie. I dont have anything against Ajith. But the movie does not deserve the hype that media gives :)

Let's wait and see. Whenever U reach heights, U shud be humble. That is why Rajni is still in that throne.
but, i'm sorry to say, both vijay and ajith fails these qualities. They started punching each other thru punch(er) dialogues in their movies. and hence the downfall.
If U take Rajni, he never hurted kamal, his close counterpart thru his dialogues though they were punches.
One thing i'll appreciate in ajith is his self confidence esp without any family background in this industry like vijay, surya, etc. That's the sprit. :)

Thala Rules...no doubt about it...your analysis is absolutely right....but after reading the comments above by some people...I laugh....one guy says hype for the film..where was the hype...by the media...no publicity by the director, and the producer who should have done it...they all knew the power of thala.....
another one says he is not superstar...he is arrogant..he is not humble...as the commenter to speak to me....I am very close to the Ajith fans circle...I mean the top level....We the top level of ajith fans know the actual truth...I don't want to talk about the conspiracies against Thala....here...coz no one will believe...even thats why Ajith is silent....its good for Ajith to be silent rather than speak....

Very true leo . One guy said the movie doesnt live up to the hype!!! Who gave the hype??? Literally everyone including some sections of media are jealous of Ajith's success. It shows the way SUN MUSIC behaves when THALA's songs are wanted to be played.
One guy says he has a long way t ogo... yes Ajith has a long way to go bcoz he is not one film wonder who gives stereotypes like VISHAL.
Secondly one guy says he is arrogant...yes Ajith himself accepted it during an interview with Kumudam when shooting for Paramasivan. He just expressed his desire... but if expressing is arrogance i think everyone who says GODFATHER is not good are arrogant too.

U see these guys always criticise Ajith's movie while the other baby boomer said Vijay slowly and steadily captured SuperStar Throne which is a lie in by itself.
Vijay can catch sarathkumar's throne. The guy has not even tried a double role or something different like Rajini's thalapthy or 6il irundhu 60varai. Vijay can well be the next ramarajan who gave a string of mega hits and became invisible.
Whatever these hypocritres utter out of sheer jealousy... its a proven fact that GODFATHER has broken chandramuki and gilli and anniyan records.
The same guys hyped for anniyan in which just wig and voice change was called super acting but THALA has changed his bodylanguage to a great extent and done a fabulous job but these guys have a shock now and cant accept THALA.
Hey detractors... i dont want to be AJITH the next superstar bcoz ur superstar Rajini might have masses but the guy has not even won one National award whereas KAMAL has 6 oscar entries and 3 national awards which is the highest by any indian actor.
I want THALA to break KAMAL's record rather than following Rajini...who has the charisma but a stereotype bore.

Thats what balachander himself said -- " Rajini is in a image trap so i cant direct him neither will he accept... but Kamal can do any role with elan.. i can and he has accepted"

I agree with your points on Kamal. He is a great actor. Infact no one in tamil industry can match him.
But just for that, you cannot degrade others. Unfortunately Kamal sir being a legend has got waste fans like you who keep on degrading others.
FYI, Like how Kamal says

He refers to the commercial content in his movies as well.
May I know why you have suddenly started to hate ajith? Rajini had already done class movies in the past. Now only he got struck in this usual commercial formula.
No comments on vijay.
But ajith unlike others, didn't get struck in this root atleast for now. He is now careful in selecting the stories. GODFATHER is a good example for it.
Except Kamal, no one in the industry except ajith would have dared to do this role.
So, instead of calling others as waste in an effort to degrade them with Kamalfan mask, try to be a genuine kamalfan and appreciate others work as well
